Positioned on either side of the axe blade, Petzl's MASSELOTTES form a small mass that balances the handling of an axe for technical mountaineering, ice climbing and dry tooling.

When struck, the balance of the ice axe is improved for precise anchoring in hard ice. The geometry of these weights optimizes blade jamming in cracks, while their removable design allows for adjustment of the technique and weight of the axe according to the intended stroke.

Compatible with several ice axe models, this accessory is delivered in pairs to equip a single ice axe.
