- Stainless steel blade: developed for Opinel, it is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. Blade hardness 55-57 HRC
- Traditional Yatagan blade: Its shape is inspired by a Turkish sabre with a raised tip. The blade is ground to an exclusive cambered profile, guaranteeing its robustness and enabling high-performance resharpening.
- Olive wood handle: pleasant to the touch and beautifully polished. Golden yellow to orange in colour, it often has dense, sinuous veining.
- Safety ring : Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all closing knives from N°06 upwards. Cut from stainless steel, Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. This process locks the blade in the open position (safety in use) and in the closed position (safety during transport).
