The Lill-Sport brand was founded 1936 in Lillehammer in Norway (Lillehammer Sport industry). Until 1980, it manufactured mainly backpacks for the Norwegian market. In 1980, the Granqvists company was founded in Sweden in order to expand the use of the brand for the cross-country skiing gloves. Lasse Granqvist, founder of the Granqvists company, has been a professional skier who found that the gloves available on the market were underperforming and very little developed. Therefore, it has begun to develop new patterns, move the stitching, use new materials... always with passion and the same philosophy, to constantly create the best possible glove. In 1991, Granqvists has based its own production plant in Poland. While other manufacturers have chosen to outsource their manufacturing in Asia, Granqvist has chosen to invest in new premises in Zlotow (2006/2007) where all Lill-Sport gloves are manufactured, a guarantee for achieving the highest quality. This unit now employs 200 people. Since the 80s, Lill-Sport has never ceased to be the global market leader of skiing gloves thanks to its tradition and its constant quest for development. Still today and perhaps more than ever! More than 100 victories in World Cups or during Olympic Games were won with Lill-Sport gloves, and among these runners, a few athletes as legendary as Gunde Svan, Thomas Wassberg, Björn Daehlie, Vladimir Smirnov, Torgny Mogren, Katarina Neumanova, Mathias Fredriksson, Thobias Fredriksson, Per Elofsson, Magdalena Forsberg, Björn Lind, Markus Hellner, Emil Jönsson, Charlotte Kalla, etc... LillSport is sold everywhere in the world where cross-country skiing is practiced.
