It is designed to move quickly in the mountains, to chain 4000 or make an ascent in record time. The Distance Spike has a totally innovative hybrid rod which includes a forefoot soft shell combined with an elastomeric strap holding the heel. The forefoot innovative softshell is designed for comfort, superior compressibility and protection against snow. The spike has been alleviated for a weight of only 95 grams each.

With the BLACK DIAMOND of experience in mountaineering crampons, the distance Spike has 14 points. Their optimized length of 8 mm provides excellent penetration of snow and ice, and improved stability on the rock and hard surfaces. Stainless steel pins are treated hot to ensure a higher level of strength and corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
