The THUNDERSTORM from Bataleon is a snowboard designed for freeride. It floats very well on powder, while retaining an incredible edge for carving on the slopes.
The Triple Base Technology™ is brilliant. The raised side zones at the widest points of the board make a lot of sense. The board turns more smoothly and quickly and this helps when you are not completely clean on landing. SideKick™ technology dramatically increases side base lift at the widest points of the nose and tail. The SuperTubes™ are hollow carbon core enhancements that are inserted into the core in 3 different configurations. Hollow carbon tubes significantly increase the pop of the Ultra Light Core and reduce the weight. The boards are constructed with a layer of fibreglass above and below the wood core.

- Triple Base Shape Form: positive camber combined with raised contact points on the widest parts of the board. The height of the Side Kick Tip increases considerably at the ends of the effective edge. The sidewalls resemble the hull of a boat, creating a gliding surface for flotation that is unprecedented in powder snow, which also makes for more incisive driving in difficult terrain.

- Tri-Ax laminate : The tri-ax laminates on and under the wood core are made of layers of fibreglass oriented in 3 directions (2 at 45° towards the edges and the 3rd along the board). This increases the board's rigidity and stability, for a more precise ride.
- Carbon Stringers : Carbon is a very light, highly reactive material. It gives the board a lot of pop, more precision, more responsiveness and absorbs vibrations. It can be used in a number of ways to refine the character of a board
