Founded originally in Schwechat, Austria in 1847 as Wiener Metallwaren, Schnallen- und Maschinenfabrik GmbH (Viennese Metalware, Buckle and Engineering Works), the company produced their first ski bindings in 1928. After further development over two more decades, Tyrolia branded ski bindings were born in 1949. Today, the name Tyrolia is synonymous with skiing, and the company manufacture more than a million bindings per year, producing around one third of bindings sold worldwide.
