The Origins of Roeckl

The story of Roeckl begins in 1839, when Jakob Roeckl opened a small shop and factory in Munich, offering luxury, hand-stitched gloves. The company grew from strength to strength, gaining a reputation for reliability and exquisite craftsmanship. By the 1870's, Roeckl had expanded to include its own dye works and a tannery, now employing approximately one thousand staff. In 1873, the company was given the honour of being the official supplier to the Bavarian court. Even today, Roeckl retains its original methods, with each pair of gloves requiring over two thousand hand stitches, and made of up to twenty-four individual sections.

At the heart of every Roeckl product is a dedication to quality and perfection. with a wealth of experience and knowledge garnered over nearly two centuries. They pride themselves on remaining a family run business, still located in Munich, and now into their sixth generation of managers. With a motto of ""Being innovative by tradition"", they have shunned modern production ideas, preferring instead to rely on the original method of producing gloves.
