Origin of the Pieps brand

Pieps began research and development in 1967 but it wasn't until 1971 that the company released its first avalanche rescue beacon into the marketplace. The beacon was hugely successful and Pieps achieved worldwide recognition for its innovative use of technology. Further safety beacons followed and in 2003, Pieps once more outshone the competition with the introduction of the world's first 3-antenna beacon which used digital signal processing and incorporated Mark and Scan functions to aid rescue parties in locating the beacon's signal.
