Mizuno's history

Mizuno was founded in 1906 in Japan, where the shop originally sold traditionally western sundries, including baseball goods due to the love of the game that founder Rihachi Mizuno had for the game. From there, the company vision expanded to include equipment for a number of sports ranging from the likes of soccer, tennis and athletics all the way through to more obscure sports such as handball. The company has continued to innovate and develop new technology throughout its existence, with the famous Mizuno Wave the prime example.

Mizuno is renowned for its scientific use of technology in the research and design of their new products, all designed to enhance athletic performance. Taking their footwear offerings for example, in 1993 Mizuno released their Dynamic Foot Contour shoe design which advanced impact absorption, stability and cushioning for its wearers. By maximising their vast knowledge and expertise in research and development, Mizuno have been and continue to be among the forerunners in sportswear, redefining what makes a successful and ultimately practical solution for its customers, while maintaining a pleasing look at the same time.

Mizuno Wave

Mizuno's flagship design is the Mizuno Wave, which is found in the Wave Inspire 14 shoe. The design helps to support runners, but does this in a more discrete manner than a regular foam wedge, giving a more stable run, particularly for people who enjoy a slower, steady run.

Dynamotion

Mizuno's Dynamotion core leggings are ideal for any athletic person as well. As they are designed based on anatomical research, they allow for a full range of motion in use and can be worn across all sports, making it an ideal base layer product. The fabric is soft and comfortable to wear without having a negative effect on performance, and the patented BlindStitch technology prevents chafing.
