Madshus: a brief biography

The world's oldest Nordic ski manufacturer, Madshus was founded in 1906. Only one other Norwegian ski company remains, the less well-known Ã…snes, meaning that Madshus has long dominated the native sports of biathlon, cross country, and Nordic combined. Madshus has been a regular leader in design innovation, which since 2010 has seen an increasing focus on environmental sustainability.

The Gear

Madshus overhauled its product line in 2013 with the launch of RED. Featuring Redline skis and boots crafted from Super Nano carbon, Madshus set their sights firmly on taking its speed capabilities up a notch. This is combined with two new technologies: Empower and IntelliGrip. Empower is an integrated chip technology that gathers in-depth analytics. IntelliGrip is a response to the difficulty of waxing, and is a wax-less integrated skin solution that has since become the industry standard.
