The Origin of LifeStraw

First established in 2005, LifeStraw initially aimed to provide access to clean drinking water for communities in underdeveloped areas. After garnering a slew of awards, including Best Innovation of 2005 from Time Magazine, LifeStraw now offers a range of high-tech portable water filtering options for adventurers.

While still offering the original ultra-portable LifeStraw, which has a 4,000-litre lifespan, the company has since branched out to include water bottles and purifying systems in its range. Of particular note is the LifeStraw Go, which you can fill up from any water source along your trek for safe and clean drinking water on the go.

Clean Water for All

LifeStraw continues to live up to its global sustainability origins through its LifeStraws Follow the Liters programme. This programme uses some of the proceeds from the sale of each LifeStraw to provide clean water for schools in the developing world, meaning that when you buy a LifeStraw, you are enabling one school child to drink clean water for a year.
