Lib-Tech's start

Lib-Tech was founded by Mike Olson, who started by making his own snowboard and moved on to a racehouse barn, where he mowed the lawn to earn his keep. After his friend joined him, the duo created a snowboard company that ripped its way to success.

Lib-Tech's strengths

Radical designs

Lib-Tech's snowboards are far from plain: even when they're not custom-designed, they include striking decals with a lot of energy. These snowboards are designed for fun, no matter how serious their construction might be (and it is), and that starts with how the design looks, straight to the eyes.

Special manufacture

Lib-Tech doesn't just sit around looking cool, though: it IS cool, down to every centimetre of the board. There's its Magne-Traction technology, which has been used to replace a curved wall with a serrated edge of teeth, adding control. Then there's the Banana Technology, which has the centre of the board arc down rather than up, letting the boarder apply pressure wherever they want and adding a really bananas level of board flexibility.

Fun and field-ready snowboards

Lib-Tech creates snowboards of different disciplines, and it markets them to anyone who can use them. No one says athletes can't have fun, and with the right snowboard, they often do. Lib-Tech also makes some of its snowboards with casual use in mind, meaning that everyone can benefit the company's whip-smart technology.

Bundled straps and footgear

Many of Lib-Tech's snowboards come with all the gear you need to keep them on your feet and feeling great. These bundles add value to already-good snowboards, and really make buying something from Lib-Tech's stock headache-free, so you can get back to snowboarding.
