Le Drapo begins its existence as a family story. Alexia Grange was passionate about both skiing and knitting. So, at the request of his brother, a famous French Skier called Jean-Baptiste Grange, he made ski banners. Jean-Baptiste would proudly display one of these blue banners during the 2007 - 2009 ski season. However, it was during the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isère that they came up with the brilliant idea to knit a red, white and blue headband. It was not long before other members of the French team and several enthusiasts were asking for the same design. Thus, the company Le Drapo was born in tribute to the colours of the French national flag. As the company's fame grew its customer base expanded beyond French territory. Now, the company's products are sold in more than 300 sports stores worldwide.
Le Drapo is famous for its trademark ""Made in France"". This is a guarantee of both quality and authenticity. Every single article is made exclusively in France and they are highly appreciated by Skiers. Not only are they produced in France but each article is hand-knitted in the company's workshops located on the plateau Haute-Loire. Their artisans are trained by the French masters who came before. The raw materials come not only from France but also from Spain and Italy.
The first role of hats made by Le Drapo is to keep the wearer warm. There are a variety of designs and colour available ranging from plain to multicoloured and patterned, so there is something for everyone. First, there is the ""urban style"", then the exclusive series and finally, there is a fully customisable range.
Like with their hats, Le Drapo provides a wide variety of banners with multiple choices of patterns and colours. Examples include banners that reflect the flags of nations such as France, Norway, Spain or Italy. These can be printed, so many different designs are available.
