Fischer began with humble origins in a small wooden barn in Austria. It was the brainchild of a man called Josef Fischer who was determined to start his own skiing brand. To this end, he started shaping skis all by himself in 1924. By the time he died in 1958, he had successfully sold over 500,000 pairs of skis. His heir took up the mantle and shaped the brand into one of the largest ski manufacturers in the world. Fischer saw continued success and expansion which culminated in 1970 in a merger with the other brands: Dynafit, Kästle and Löffler. Since 2008, Fischer has focused itself on alpine and Nordic skiing.
To set itself apart from the competition, Fischer has made innovation and technological advancement ideals to live by. This has kept it always one step ahead of the competition and a favourite among athletes. They pioneered VACUUM FIT, a technology that allowed the ski boots to adjust themselves to the wearer's feet that were also the first of its kind.
Fischer established itself as a reliable partner for all those who work with it since the days of its founder. This is in part due to the fact that the brand has always remained within the Fischer family. By staying true to its roots, the company has maintained all of the original values which set it apart in the first place.
